Authors must ensure that the manuscript is entirely original and that any work by third parties is properly cited. If reviewers do not consider themselves sufficiently qualified to review a manuscript, they must communicate this after reading the abstract and before receiving the full paper.
Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest related to the work or its funding sources that could influence their evaluation.
Reviewers are responsible for identifying relevant references omitted by authors and for informing the editorial committee about cases of duplicate publication or plagiarism not previously detected by the journal.
Reviewers must handle all information received from the editorial committee or authors with strict confidentiality and make appropriate use of it.
Reviewers commit themselves to complying with ethical standards in research and scientific publication.
Procedures in Cases of Unethical Conduct
Editors shall take reasonable measures to identify and prevent the publication of works involving unethical behavior or research misconduct. Unethical practices include data fabrication, data manipulation, plagiarism, citation manipulation, falsification of information, or omission of authorship, among others.
Reports of unethical conduct must initially be submitted in writing to the editor, accompanied by sufficient evidence to initiate an investigation. The editor and editorial committee will then be responsible for conducting the investigation.
Minor ethical issues may be resolved directly with the authors without consulting the editorial committee.
In cases of serious unethical conduct, the editor and editorial committee shall:
